Stucco repair in Clearwater and Pinellas County

Cracks, holes, hollow-sounding spots and stains that keep coming back can mean water is getting in behind the wall. We find out how far the damage goes, repair what's underneath, and blend the patch so it disappears once it's painted.

Built for Florida weather.

We are having a great experience with Patrick and Dylan. We recently contracted to have the front facade of our home redone which included a simple removal of decorative wood, repair stucco and paint. As they began it was clear that there were many surprises - just like TV. We had a gaping whole in our house! They were able to give us a quote on the spot, knew exactly how to essentially rebuild the front of our home and worked diligently to get it completed. They had great communication via text email and digital quotes. Don't expect the least expensive, but you will get your money's worth. Everything was neat and clean after projects which was important. You will feel very comfortable with them around your home. Patrick was willing to work out some creative details and did research to help our ideas become a reality. We've hired them for two more projects - that says it all!

Patrick and crew did an excellent job remediating significant storm damage from the hurricanes. Work was accurately quoted and completed to our complete satisfaction. We’ve used them before for smaller jobs and have always been very pleased with the outcome

Patrick and Dylan completely remodeled my house after Hurricane Helene. They were very professional, showed up on time, and worked with my timeline and the permitting process. Patrick is truly talented, can fix anything, and has a great eye for design. He presented me with ideas for the bathrooms and kitchen that were an upgrade to what I had previously and made the house pop. I have received so many compliments on the new look.

Questions

Common questions.

Do I need a permit for stucco repair?

It depends on the size of the job and your city. Pinellas County (for unincorporated areas) lists stucco among possible examples for the state's under-$7,500 exemption request. Since July 1, 2026, a single-family owner (or the owner's contractor) can ask the building department in writing, with the contract or other documents, to exempt work valued under $7,500, but not in a flood hazard area and not for structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical or gas work (s. 553.79(1)(g)). Repairs to sheathing or framing behind the stucco are a different matter. In Clearwater, for example, the city says replacing walls, any framing work, repairing wall, floor or roof sheathing, replacing windows and doors, and installing or replacing siding, soffits and fascia need a permit (City of Clearwater), and that in general painting doesn't (City of Clearwater FAQ). Your building department decides; we check before we start.

Can you match my existing stucco?

Yes. We match the texture and blend the repair so it disappears once it's painted.

Is every stucco crack a problem?

Not always. Thin hairline cracks are common. Cracks that are wider, growing, stair-stepped, or next to stains or soft spots are worth having looked at, because they can let water in. Text us a photo.

Is it safe to repair painted stucco on an older home?

In homes built before 1978, painted surfaces may contain lead, and the EPA's lead-safe rules apply to paid renovation work that disturbs them. We ask when your home was built; if it's pre-1978, lead-disturbing work is handled by an EPA lead-safe certified firm.
