Window replacement and impact windows in Pinellas County
New impact windows, replacement windows and repairs to the ones you have, installed to the Florida Building Code with the product approvals and permits they need. We replace windows across Clearwater, St. Petersburg and the rest of Pinellas County, and we handle the paperwork so the permit closes cleanly.
Sealed tight. Built for storms.
How we handle it.
Impact-rated windows that protect the opening without shutters, chosen for your home's design wind pressures and installed to the manufacturer's approved instructions.
Old single-pane, leaking or failing windows swapped for new ones, sized, flashed and sealed so water stays out.
Windows that stick, leak, won't lock or have failed seals, repaired where repair makes sense and replaced where it doesn't.
The windows we install carry Florida product approval, either statewide (an FL number) or local approval your building department accepts, such as a Miami-Dade NOA (ss. 553.842, 553.8425), and we pull the permit and schedule the inspections. In homes built before 1978, the EPA lead-safe (RRP) rule covers window replacement no matter how little paint is disturbed, and the EPA requires the firm that contracts the job to be RRP-certified, so for those homes we refer you to an EPA-certified firm.
Five-star reviews.
Patrick and Dylan are very honest men and very trustworthy honesty goes a long way with these guys they install the best weather proof windows and blinds for me as well very professional and very respectful and knowledgeable kind and clean up after they are done really respectfully to you and your family and home
Patrick & Dylan do absolutely amazing work and cannot speak highly enough of them. I hired them initially for a full kitchen remodel, which included doubling the size of the kitchen, taking out walls, window install, masonry, paintwork, tile work, and more. I have also had them back since for door installs, tile work, windows, and other odd jobs.
Their quotes are extremely fair for the large scope of work they offer, and have never had a single occurrence of being nickel & dimed as a project went on. They set their prices and schedule up front with the signed project scope/payment schedule and have been amazingly prompt, courteous, and accommodating with every project. The attention to detail, time to planning & execution, and final outcomes are genuinely top tier.
In short, hire Patrick & Dylan, they are bar none the most personable & top notch guys I've ever hired to take on jobs for me.
Patrick came through for us when we found ourselves in need of someone to remove an exterior door of a 1940s Crescent Lake (St Pete) home in a manner that would complement the exterior of the house. He gave us a quote, and he provided building materials at our request. Patrick secured the necessary permits promptly on our behalf, he was punctual, and he was a tireless worker. He was capable, pleasant, and professional and he has a great sense of humor. When he discovered prior termite damage during the project, he showed us and he worked with us to address the issue without increasing his estimate. He cares deeply about the quality of his workmanship, customer satisfaction, and he is an honest and trustworthy man. His clean up is meticulous. It is our intention to hire him again for our future remodeling projects, and we do not hesitate to recommend him. […] The interior wall was similarly impressive.
Outstanding workmanship, highly recommended for your small to large projects. Dependable, reliable and very aware of the customer vision. Patrick will be our go to man with all our home improvement. His service are well worth the price which are indeed very affordable. ( Excellent job installing pre-hung door )
Common questions.
Do I need a permit to replace windows in Pinellas County?
Usually, yes. Pinellas County lists replacing windows among the common projects that need a permit. Clearwater requires one for "replacement of windows, doors, garage doors or skylights in existing or altered wall openings," and St. Petersburg treats window and door replacement as structural work, so it isn't eligible for the state's under-$7,500 exemption request. Confirm with your building department; we pull the permit for our work.
How much does a window permit cost?
In unincorporated Pinellas County, the FY27 fee schedule lists windows, doors, shutters and garage doors at $145 for up to 20 openings plus $5 for each additional opening, with plan review included. Cities set their own fees.
Do my new windows have to be impact-rated?
In wind-borne debris regions, the Florida Building Code requires exterior glazed openings to be protected, either with impact-rated products or approved protection such as shutters (FBC-Residential R301.2.1.2). For one- and two-family homes in windborne debris regions that were built under codes other than the Florida Building Code, FBC-Existing Building 707.4 lets you replace glazed windows and doors without opening protection if the replaced glazing within any 12-month period is no more than 25% of the home's total glazed area (the new units must still be designed for enclosed-building wind pressures); beyond that, protection is required. Treasure Island, for example, says the whole city is in a wind-borne debris region. Your building department decides how this applies to your home.
How do I check that a window has Florida product approval?
Ask for the Florida product approval number (FL number) or Miami-Dade NOA and look the FL number up on the Florida Building Commission's product approval search. Under s. 553.842, a product can't be marketed as hurricane or impact protection unless it's approved.
Can My Safe Florida Home help pay for impact windows?
Possibly. Impact-resistant windows, doors, garage doors and skylights are eligible improvements. Under s. 215.5586, grants are for homesteaded homes built before January 1, 2008, insured for $700,000 or less, owned by low- or moderate-income homeowners; the state pays $2 for every $1 you put in, up to $10,000 from the state, and eligible low-income owners need no match. The program says not to start work before your grant is approved.
Is there a tax break for impact windows?
The federal energy efficient home improvement credit ended for property placed in service after December 31, 2025, per the IRS. Florida now refunds sales tax, up to $500 for one homesteaded, site-built home with a just value of $700,000 or less, on impact-resistant windows, doors and garage doors bought July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029; the refund application (Form DR-26HH) goes to the Department of Revenue by September 30, 2029 (s. 212.08(21)).
